What Is Custom Tissue Paper?

Custom tissue paper is a thin and soft sheet of paper printed with your logo, brand colors or a repeating design. It does double duty unlike a plain tissue. First, it protects and secondly it presents. It protects the fragile contents, increases the volume within the box and transforms the practical wrapping from a functional one to a branded marketing tool which is photographed and shared by the customers. How Custom Printed Tissue Paper Sheets Are Made?

Every roll of custom tissue paper goes through a series of carefully controlled stages before it's ready to wrap your products. Here is a close look at each step.

Pulping

Wood pulp in the form of fibre either of virgin or recycled wood is processed into slurry pulp through breaking down the fibre into small pieces and mixing it with water. Additives like softeners and strengtheners are added in this process to develop the texture of the paper. Once the base pulp is ready, it is prepared for a bright and consistent finish.

Bleaching 

If a bright white finish is required, the pulp goes through a bleaching and mechanical treatment stage. This step also helps control fibre strength and absorbency for the final sheet. The treated pulp is then ready to be transformed into a continuous sheet.

Sheet Forming

The pulp is spread evenly across a fast-moving forming wire. Water drains away as the fibres bond together, creating a delicate and partially formed wet web of paper. This wet web still holds excess moisture, so it moves next through drying.

Pressing and Drying

The wet web will then go through some press rolls and heated drying cylinders, whereby the moisture is being removed slowly until the sheet becomes light and thin just like the tissue paper. Once the sheet has been dried up, it is now time to make the sheet soft and stretchable.

Creping

The dried sheet is adhered to a heated drum and scraped off with a creping blade. This crucial step gives tissue paper its softness, stretch and bulk. To finish the base sheet, one final refining step is applied.

Calendaring

The sheet is lightly calendared to improve ply bonding and create a smooth, consistent surface ready for printing. With a smooth and print ready surface achieved, your brand can now come to life on the sheet.

Cutting and Packing

The printed tissue paper is cut to size, folded or rolled per your specifications and packed for dispatch ready to elevate your product's unwrapping experience.
